OVER-30, Over-40 and Over-48 LEAGUES -- Players looking for teams to play on First, check to see if any there any SASL teams currently advertising for new players. Over-30 players and players interested in the Masters League (Over-40) looking for a team should download the SASL Team Managers Contact Info, a Microsoft Word document with addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of all managers and their assistants of teams in the SASL. Players interested in the Legends League (Over-48 in 2008, Over-49 in 2009 and Over-50 in 2010), there is no Team Managers Contact Info document yet. You could contact the Masters League teams, or keep checking the Players Wanted page. A word on the level of competition in the SASL can be found in the Overview and Brief History of the SASL. FYI -- The SASL is not a men only league, but it is very rare to find women players in the SASL these days. The last time was probably in the late 1980s, early 1990s. Teams may accept a woman player if she is experienced, skillful and physically capable of playing competitive soccer with men. In fact, many of the SASL teams have midweek practices that may have one or more women players playing with them! Contact the team of your choice for more information. Teams who wish to join the SASL Legends League (Over-48 in 2008, Over-49 in 2009 and Over-50 in 2010) should download the SASL Legends League New Team Application Forms, a Microsoft Word document, for more information. Note: Until a new form is created, it is basically the same as the Masters League (Over-40s) form. "UNDER-30" or OPEN LEAGUES The following are affiliated with the Connecticut State Soccer Association also. 1: Amateur Soccer League of Connecticut (ASLC) -- mainly in Fairfield County (Bruce Ennis, President) 2: Connecticut Soccer League (CSL) -- statewide, the primary open league in Connecticut 3: U-23 League -- a CSSA-affiliated league run by former CSSA President, Al Bell (or e-mail here)

OTHER MENS SOCCER As an added service, here are other men's soccer leagues or clubs in Connecticut that may interest you: 1: Connecticut Adult Recreational Soccer League (CARSL) -- is an Over-40 league that complements the SASL Masters League (some might say "competes" with). Choose the league that suits how you like to play soccer. 2: Farmington Valley Adult Soccer Club -- provide for men's and women's soccer 3: Hartford Insurance & Industrial Soccer League (HIISL) -- a mixture of Open, Over-30 and Over-40 players playing in a summer (May through August) industrial league in and around the Hartford metropolitan area. They play in midweek during the evenings 4: Nutmeg Soccer League -- is an Over-50 league inaugurated in 2007. The league was created by teams and players leaving the CARSL Over-40 league (see link above) and is therefore expected to follow a similar format. 5: Shoreline Soccer Club (SSC) -- is an open league in New London inaugurated in 2006. The league was created by Joshua Cardoza, coach of New London High School. 6: Southern New England Amateur Soccer League (SNEASL) -- is an Over-30 league that is more localised to north-central Connecticut. They now have an Over-40 division, just started in 2006

WOMENS SOCCER The following are affiliated with the Connecticut State Soccer Association also. 1: CARSL Womens Division -- The Connecticut Adult Recreational Soccer League has a women's Over-30 division. They plan to add a women's Over-40 division in the future 2: Connecticut Womens Summer Soccer League (CWSSL) -- statewide, open summer league in Connecticut 3: Eastern Connecticut Women's Soccer Club -- provide year-round soccer! 4: Farmington Valley Adult Soccer Club -- provide for men's and women's soccer 5: Kick For A Cause Women's Tournament -- an annual tournament for Over-30 and Over-40 women hosted by Wallingford, Connecticut every July. They're planning to add Over-50s too! 6: Southern Connecticut Womens Soccer League (SCWSL) -- Stamford, Connecticut-based open league 7: West Hartford Womens Soccer Club -- for women age 23 and over

YOUTH SOCCER CAMPS Many of these camps are run by ex-players and friends of the Shoreline Adult Soccer League or many players have worked, or still do work, for these camps. For this reason, I am very honoured to promote them! 1: MLS Camps (On location, including nationally) MLS Camps is a division of North American Sports Camps, Inc. (NASC), a Delaware Corporation headquartered in Mystic, CT. Many of the coaches are certified by the Football Association in England. 2: Ray Reid Soccer School (At the University of Connecticut, or on location) Ray Reid is a multiple NCAA National Championship winning Head Coach formerly at Southern Connecticut State University and now at the University of Connecticut. 3: SoccerPlus Camps (On location, including nationally -- includes goalkeeper camps) SoccerPlus is run by Tony DiCicco, Head Coach of the 1996 Olympic Gold-Medal Winning and 1999 World Cup Champions USA Women's National Soccer Team and current Commissioner of the WUSA. 4: Soccerhead (On location in Connecticut and Massachusetts) Steve Coxon, A.K.A. "Soccerhead," is well known to many SASL players as the former manager of the Connecticut Sportsplex indoor soccer dome at North Branford, CT. He is also former Head Coach of the Connecticut Wolves of the A-League and played professionally in England for Newcastle United. 5: Victory Soccer (On location, including nationally) Victory Soccer is run by Bob Dikranian, a highly respected former Head Coach of Southern Connecticut State University and Chico Chacurian who played professionally for Racing Club in Argentina and the U.S. Men's National Team including at the 1954 World Cup. 6: Vogelsinger Soccer Academy (On location, including nationally) Hubert Vogelsinger is a former Head Coach of Yale University and was a Head Coach for three clubs in the old North American Soccer League (NASL).
